#Cartoon movie reviews for kids series
Like those shows, the Saban Entertainment series ran on Fox's Fox Kids programming block. 20 GARGOYLESĪfter shows like X-Men: The Animated Series and Spider-Man: The Animated Series ruled Saturday mornings in the mid-1990s, Silver Surfer explored the furthest reaches of the Marvel Universe in 1998. While some of them might show their age now, these cartoons were all an essential part of growing up in the most radical decade. Even though they used to rule Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons, these outstanding animated shows haven't been revived and aren't consistently celebrated alongside more popular '90s cartoons. While we'll be including shows from every part of the decade, we won't be including any anime or adult-oriented cartoons like The Critic. For this list, we'll be focusing on some of the decade's most overlooked cartoons. Now, CBR is looking back at some incredible cartoons that only '90s kids will remember.
Despite that, some legitimately worthwhile shows from the '90s have faded from the public's collective memory. Even though the '90s ended almost two decades ago, a lot of that era's cartoons are still held up as pinnacles of animated excellence. Massive cartoons like X-Men: The Animated Series spawned massive toylines, while other shows like Rugrats inspired theatrical movies.
While shows like Batman: The Animated Series and Animaniacs pushed the boundaries of what broadcast network cartoons could be, the cable channels Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network came into their own with cartoons that defined an era.
